My Thankful Spot

I am strong

I have grown a baby inside of me and brought it into this world
I have mourned 4 Grandparents, 2 Aunts, 2 Uncles, and a great number of family friends
I am still grieving my father
I have been bullied
I have had my heart broken
I have battled with depression
I am a shoulder for to cry on
I co-run a theatre company
I am a mother, wife, daughter, aunt, niece and friend

I am stronger than I give myself credit for most days and I am grateful for the strength I have

Playdate

Today I took Nathan over to a friend’s place for a playdate with her little one. Her daughter is about 3 months older than Nathan and they seemed to have fun together. I’m grateful for today’s playdate. For one, Nathan got to socialize with another baby and I got to have a nice cup of tea and chat with a lovely lady.

The Envelope

Yesterday I opened my mailbox to discover this envelope:

If you’ve ever applied for a grant I’m sure you’ve felt what I was feeling. A sharp intake of air, the pulse quickening, the simultaneous excitement and dread as you open the envelope, the release of the breath you were holding as you pull out the contents and discover the good or bad news.

In this case it was good news. We received the full amount we requested from the OAC’s Compass Program, which is extremely exciting given that it is such a highly competitive program. It means a lot for Evolution Theatre and gives us the opportunity to work with and receive some guidance from an amazing woman.

I’m grateful for the Compass Program, but even more grateful for the opportunity it allows us!
